The ‘Secret Beach’, as it is called by some of the residents who live in the area, is at a location near Batu Ferringhi, Penang island. Surprisingly it really is known only to a lucky few, which is by no means a bad thing. It was my ‘go to’ place when I wanted to escape the worries of the world. It was also a safe refuge for stray dogs who were tagged and cared for by a local Chinese Malaysian lady. The beach and surrounding gardens were always well maintained by a de-facto caretaker and later by guardians of the small Hindu temple situated there. I have many fond memories of this special place, not the least of which were to take my drone on a sunny day to capture some great aerial footage, later to be used in a video at Chloe’s wedding…
