Making the bio-drain

Work is well under way with bio drain construction along the eastern boundary of the hotel.

We are constructing a ‘grade A’ sewage treatment plant for all the buildings on site and in the immediate area. This is a treatment that delivers low level pathogen ‘clear water’. it will mix with a combination of storm water and natural land drainage to then terminate in the Bio drain.

It is a simple concept; layered mats of gravel and rock set in beds over a 150 – 200m2 area, planted with water, salt and sand tolerant vegetation. This combination keeps the sea water cleaner and helps reduce the incidence of jellyfish.
